CASABLANCA: A SUCCESS FOR “VESPA DAY”
WITH THE FOCUS ON SAFETY

A GREAT TWO-WHEELER MEETING AND RIDE TOUR, ORGANISED BY THE IMPORTER SEHI GROUP, WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF VESPA CLUB MAROC.

A special Vespa rally was held recently in Casablanca, taking road safety as its theme. The event was a great party on two wheels, organised by the Piaggio Group importer in Morocco – SEHI GROUP – with the enthusiastic participation of customers and members of Vespa Club Maroc.

The day began with everyone invited to meet up for breakfast at the MOTOBOX Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi store in Casablanca, before setting off for a parade through the city streets, down the main boulevards and past Casablanca’s most important monuments, and stopping in front of the spectacular Hassan II mosque, Morocco’s largest mosque and the third-largest in the world (on the left in the background image to this article); the Vespa procession then left the city for a 30 km ride to Dar Bouazza, a well-known coastal resort, where they had lunch at a popular restaurant.

Among the riders interviewed by press and TV were Mohamed Hilmi, President of the national motorcyclist association, and Abderazzak Mreka, President of the national association of two-wheeler enthusiasts. They both stressed the importance of following road safety rules. A message that is always worth hearing, intended above all for younger riders, including those taking part in the rally, which took place on Saturday 16 September 2017.
The event was covered by the local press and TV news channels. Here is the 2MTV report:

To commemorate the special Vespa day, the importer distributed gadgets to the delighted participants (bags, t-shirts and caps with the Vespa label). “The rally was a wonderful opportunity for us to give the Vespa brand a strong identity throughout the country, and to convey the values of friendship and freedom of movement in safety,” commented Anwar Ghazale, Division Director at the Moto/SEHI Group, the Piaggio Group importer in Morocco, which is based in Casablanca and has sales and service outlets in Rabat, Marrakech and Tangiers.
