APRILIA READY FOR THE 2018 SUPERSTOCK 1000 FIM CUP ADVENTURE: START FROM ARAGON, 12-15 APRIL

Alcaniz, Spain, 12 April 2018 – Always a star performer among modified road bikes, the Aprilia RSV4 is ready to return to the racing circuit for the first Superstock 1000 FIM Cup competition. A category that saw the bike triumph in 2015 with Lorenzo Savadori, whose victory joined the 7 world Superbike championship titles conquered by the Italian V4 with riders like Max Biaggi (two titles, in 2010 and 2012) and Sylvain Guintoli (world champion in 2014), and the four Manufacturer world titles (won in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014).

The Aprilia Racing Team has been hard at work on the RSV4 FW-STK during the winter months: the bike has evolved since last year and is ready to battle for the top positions in a challenging and fiercely fought championship. The first date on the season calendar will see Chilean rider Maximilian Scheib and teammate Luca Vitali out on the Aragòn circuit in Spain (12-14 April 2018). This is the second season on the Italian bike for both riders, who will benefit from the experience gained last year as well as the test data collected during the winter.

MAXIMILIAN SCHEIB: "We carried out important tests and put a lot of work into our Aprilia RSV4 FW-STK over the winter. The bike is evolving and we shall be bringing a series of new solutions to the circuit that we’ve already successfully tested. We’ve made a step forward from last season, so I am very hopeful about Aragon. I can’t wait for the championship to begin and I shall be doing everything I can to leverage all Aprilia Racing’s efforts in 2017.”

LUCA VITALI: "I’m raring to go as the championship starts. We’ll be looking for a good set-up to maintain competitiveness over the whole weekend. The team has always supported me, I trust them absolutely and I know they’re ready to go all out with me. The championship level is very high, and together with Aprilia Racing we’ll be fighting to achieve important results throughout the season.”
