APRILIA RACING CELEBRATED (RED)
AT THE LAST GP OF THE SEASON, IN VALENCIA

THE RS-GP BIKES AND THE WHOLE TEAM IN TOTAL RED TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT THE FIGHT AGAINST AIDS. THE SPECIALLY CREATED #iRideRED HASHTAG WAS LAUNCHED DURING THE RACE WEEKEND.

At the Valencia GP, the entire Aprilia Racing team wore total red, or, better, (RED), beginning with the RS-GP motorcycles ridden by Bautista and Bradl, to celebrate the Piaggio Group’s support for the (RED) association set up by Bono and Bobby Shriver to support programs that combat AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in developing countries. Many people wear the colour red, bur only Aprilia is (RED) in spirit.

Noale, 8 November 2016 – The Valencia GP was a special occasion for Aprilia Racing. For the last race of the 2016 season, the entire team dressed in red, and the Aprilia RS-GP bikes made their appearance on the racetrack in a special all-red livery marked only by the (RED) logo, to celebrate the association that, over the years, has distinguished itself with its efforts to fighting disease, one of the greatest problems of our time. It was an unprecedented initiative, which Aprilia Racing and the entire Piaggio Group were proud to promote and lead.

The Valencia GP also saw the debut of the #iRideRED hashtag, for people to share and participate in force in the most important race of all, the fight against the HIV virus and other life-threatening diseases.

Set up in 2006 by Bono and Bobby Shriver, (RED) has raised 360 million USD for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The funds have gone to Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Ruanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zambia, with 100% of the resources invested in Africa to finance programs created specifically to combat HIV/AIDS. (RED)’s contribution to the Global Fund has helped more than 70 million people by supporting prevention, treatment, consultancy, HIV tests and assistance services.
