VESPA LOVER: AN INTERSTELLAR JOURNEY FROM THE ARCHIVES TO THE COSMOS

Milan, May 25th, 2026 – Vespa continues to push the boundaries of its aesthetic universe with the launch of Vespa Lover. The collection serves as a new visionary narrative chapter, exploring the brand’s deep-rooted and prophetic connection with the cosmos as it approaches its 80th anniversary. Within this immersive scenario, the icon reaffirms itself as a frontier of style, capable of transforming its historical heritage into a contemporary vision projected toward the future.

The concept finds its sparks in a visionary fragment of company’s literary history: as early as 1955, the pages of the Piaggio magazine in Pontedera (Pisa province, in Tuscany; the headquarter of Piaggio Group and the birth town of Vespa, ed.) were filled with tales of “Vespa sci-fi,” imagining the icon as the protagonist of a distant, interstellar future. Today, that pioneering intuition, finds an almost magical confirmation in scientific reality: few people know that the firmament hosts a fragment of this Italian legend, since 6062 Vespa is the name of the asteroid discovered in 1983 (by the American astronomer Norman Gene Thomas, ed.) and officially named after the icon in 1996, on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary. It is from this temporal short circuit — between the “absurd” stories of the 1950s and the solemnity of a celestial body orbiting through the void — that the essence of Vespa Lover is born.

With this drop, Vespa becomes a planet of its own — a place where archival DNA and a drive toward the future coexist in delicate balance. The narrative unfolds around the idea that we are all, in some way, strangers within a solar system made of symbols and crystallized memories. This fluidity of thought takes shape in a collection where streetwear meets the most refined form of collecting culture.

Within this interstellar universe, the Vespa Grey Hoodie plays with unexpected volumes and perspectives through an immersive front-and-back graphic that faithfully reproduces the rider’s point of view and the iconic design of the rear of the Vespa. Completing the look, the Jeans Wide Leg in cotton reinterprets the classic polka-dot pattern with an artistic attitude: the irregular circles with “dripped” edges evoke lunar craters and celestial surfaces. The collection’s T-shirts become windows onto cosmic scenarios, enriched by the ironic graphic of an alien riding a Vespa and the bold claim ICONIC ON EVERY PLANET,” reaffirming the brand’s universal nature.

The exploration extends into the lifestyle realm, celebrating Italian craftsmanship with objects that defy convention. The Vespa Sprint Dog, a piece of high Italian craftsmanship made from Tuscan ceramic, transforms an elegant greyhound into a space traveller with a helmet — completing the collection alongside the already available Dachshund, Scottish terrier, and Shiba versions. The collection also features an exclusive Vespa Balloon in silver mylar, a metallic tribute to the silhouette that conquered the orbit, alongside Italian-made ceramic plates, keychains, and umbrellas adorned with deep-space motifs. The visual language of Vespa Lover engages with the brand's iconic imagery in a way that is both contemporary and irreverent.

Through premium materials and artisanal craftsmanship, Vespa Lover invites us to look at the sky not as a limit, but as the next road to be travelled.
