A FANTASTIC GUZZI RALLY IN TRANI FOR THE 2019 “V MEETING CALIFORNIA 1400”

The “V Meeting California 1400” for 2019, held in Trani in May, was a great success, with a total of 54 bikes and 70 participants. This report comes from Giuliano Festi, president of the organizing club: “The meeting is an annual event, organised by La Nuova California 1400 Club. The motto for our mission is: ‘A dream that unites a nation, which is to bring together the owners of California motorcycles and promote a responsible riding style, on the saddle of the Moto Guzzi flagship’.

The club is a highly active virtual organisation: it was created in 2015 when, as the result of a campaign on the internet, a group of new owners of the Moto Guzzi flagship from across Italy met up in Senigallia. From there, they decided to meet at least once a year, each time in a different town, not one of Italy's most popular classic locations, but a town on a more original itinerary, so that the three-day meeting would be a discovery of less well-known but equally fascinating locations in the Bel Paese.

Since then, over the years we have been to Cassino, Laives, Fermo and this year to Trani, where in addition to visiting the other places of local historical and cultural interest, we were given special permission to ride our bikes up to the square in front of the 13th century Castel del Monte fortress in the Murge plateau in Puglia.

The number of participants has increased at each meeting, with people also arriving from France and Switzerland, so there were about seventy of us this year in Trani. The club has a website and official Facebook and Instagram pages: so, take a look all you Guzzi bikers and join the club, you’ll be very welcome!

We were warmly received everywhere we went this year, and the sight of dozens of the Eagle’s flagship bike certainly attracted great interest and admiration. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting, follow us!”.
