July 2025, Ehlerange (Luxembourg) – A big international gathering took place from 4 to 6 July 2025 for the ‘Luxembourg Vespa Days’, held in Ehlerange under the aegis of the Vespa World Club. The ‘Vespa Village’ was set up at the town’s Multipurpose Centre. This year’s Vespa Days carried even greater significance as they also marked the 15th anniversary of the founding of Vespa Club Luxembourg.

Over 100 Vespisti from Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, France, Germany, Belgium, and Italy attended the three-day event in the Grand Duchy. On Friday, the Vespisti were welcomed with a dinner organised by the Vespa Club, featuring grilled Luxembourgish specialities. Saturday’s programme began early with breakfast and then, from 10 am, the Vespa tour set off to explore some of the most beautiful, distinctive and picturesque corners of Luxembourg. Cities, villages, and gentle hills gave way to woodland and then to cultivated fields, with farmhouses. Grazing cattle watched the passing Vespisti with placid curiosity. All the tours ended in Luxembourg City, where a catering team greeted the riders with Italian-flavoured packed lunches (bread rolls with cured ham and tomatoes, accompanied by a drizzle of balsamic vinegar).

After lunch, the Vespisti divided into groups of 10 to 15 and, after parking their scooters, set off on a guided tour of Luxembourg City centre. Every street corner, building, and square was described in detail, complete with engaging storis. They were fortunate enough to witness the Changing of the Guard outside the Grand Ducal Palace, an event that takes place only three times a year. After around an hour and a half, everyone met up again at the starting point to collect their Vespas and ride back at their own pace to the Multipurpose Centre for the gala dinner. The meal had a distinctly Italian flavour, with chefs and staff serving up delights from the Bel Paese that wowed the guests. The birthday cake marking the 15th anniversary of the Vespa Club Luxembourg was, of course, a highlight of the evening.

Impeccable organisation and service set the tone for a wonderful evening, which ended with music and celebrations. The same care and attention to detail were evident in the minivan service, arranged to ensure riders could return safely without having to travel on unfamiliar roads after the gala dinner. Not a crumb of the dinner was wasted, as surplus food was collected and redistributed in keeping with the event’s sustainability ethos, with support from volunteer associations.

Sunday morning was a decidedly wet one, with steady rain prompting the organisers to cancel the planned parade through the city streets on safety grounds.

The Vespisti were welcomed with a warm breakfast at the Multipurpose Centre, where they socialised, shared Vespa stories, travel tales, and rally memories. They also raised a toast to the 15th anniversary of the Vespa Club Luxembourg. A final, hearty barbecue lunch followed, after which it was time for farewells as everyone set off safely on their journey home. ‘Arrivederci’ Vespisti!
(Special thanks for the event report to Marco Manzoli, Secretary of the Vespa World Club, who attended the Luxembourg Vespa Days also as a representative of the Piaggio Group’s Events, Marketing & Communication department).

IN THE HEART OF EUROPE. Three unforgettable days exploring a small but truly remarkable and historic nation. The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, with fewer than 670 thousand inhabitants, lies at the heart of Europe, bordering Belgium, France, and Germany, and is one of the founding members of the European Union. Alongside Brussels and Strasbourg, Luxembourg is home to several EU institutions.
The landscape is largely rural, featuring dense forests in the Ardennes and natural parks in the north, the rocky gorges of the Müllerthal region in the east, and the Moselle Valley in the southeast. The eponymous capital is renowned for its fortified medieval old town, dramatically perched on a sheer cliff. Founded in 963, Luxembourg City boasts more than a millennium of history.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PASSION AND FRIENDSHIP. A final thanks go to Vespa Club Luxembourg (President is Marco Mondaini), the Board of Directors, Piaggio Benelux, in particular Luca Eberle, Benelux Country Manager, and Christian van den Brekel, Trade Marketing Manager (Piaggio Vespa B.V., subsidiary based in Breda, Netherlands), the dealer Sunluxe Motors (https://sunlux.lu/), a Piaggio Group dealer, based in Münsbach, Schuttrange, Luxembourg (Vespa and Piaggio brands for 30 years, from 2023 also Moto Guzzi and from 2024 Aprilia). And, last but not least, thank you also to all the sponsors who made this unforgettable celebration possible.

AN ACT OF LOVE FOR VESPA, NOT JUST LOGISTICS: Behind the scenes of every major Vespa gathering, like the one in Luxembourg, lie countless stories of commitment, friendship, and last‑minute fixes for every unexpected sudden and challenge. Here’s one of them, as told by Luca Eberle: “Christian van den Brekel went to great lengths to find a Vespa for Marco Manzoli, exactly when and where he needed it, with minimal notice. The task was anything but easy, but thanks to dealer Sunlux, who supplied a brand‑new Vespa GTS 310, Marco could take part in the event’s on‑the‑road tour. I can assure you, this was an act of love and passion for Vespa, not just logistics.”
