The time was right to take the bike out of the garage and travel over the hills of Tuscany for a special day covered by Sky Sport and Sky MotoGP television, celebrating one of the world’s most popular brands, its bikes and its champions, both past and present.

The celebration was open to all fans, their families (there were plenty of children, really Aprilia fans), groups of friends and motorcyclists of all kinds, not just Aprilia owners. It was a great opportunity to meet MotoGP drivers Andrea Iannone and Bradley Smith in person and watch the extraordinary RS-GP bikes racing in the Moto GP world championships queen class.

The highlight was Guido Meda and Vera Spadini’s presentation of the Aprilia MotoGP team on the track. Aprilia Racing Team Gresini rider Andrea Iannone and test rider Bradley Smith were celebrated by the public and by the big Aprilia Racing family.

Plenty of stars were at the Mugello track, including some from the world of sports, such as motorcycle champion Lorenzo Savadori and ex rider and racing sports commentator Max Temporali, while were together on the track Max Biaggi (showing in the pit lane his Aprilia RS 250 on which he won the 1995 World Championship), Loris Capirossi, Manuel Poggiali, Alex Gramigni and Roberto Locatelli, great champions who have made Aprilia’s history, represented with the parade of their winning Aprilia motorcycles.

The “World history of Aprilia” pit walk was open to members of the #bearacerclub community, and thirty of them test rode the latest new Aprilia bikes on the track.

The new RSV4 1100 Factory, the Aprilia 217 HP superbike, made its world premiere on the track at Mugello, along with the RSV4 X special edition by Aprilia Racing celebrating the tenth anniversary of the RSV4. They were accompanied by more fantastic bikes from the 2019 range, from the Aprilia Tuono to the RSV4 RR, including the plucky Aprilia RS-Race 150 scooter, featured in an entertaining “competition” on the track between riders and motorsports reporters.

The Aprilia 2019 range was on display in the paddock for taking the essential selfies and admiring the RS 660 concept. The Aprilia Village paddock was packed from ten o’clock in the morning until late afternoon, with entertainment by Virgin Radio featuring Ringo on the stage for talk shows with Aprilia champions, music and a non-stop succession of contests in which hundreds of Aprilia prizes were up for grabs, from passes for various stages of the MotoGP to clothing, accessories and racing and drivers’ memorabilia; drivers threw autographed photos out into the audience.

The final grand prize, a flame-red Aprilia Shiver 900, was awarded in a draw for fans who registered on the Virgin Radio website. Thousands of fans in the paddock toured the stands of Aprilia Racing partners Sky, Diadora and Gulf and an Aprilia shop selling Aprilia and Aprilia Racing clothing and merchandising at special prices.

A “meet&greet” event featured Aprilia Motogp 2019 riders Andrea Iannone and Bradley Smith, along with Max Biaggi and Lorenzo Savadori, available for interviews, comments, photos and autographs.

Fans flocked to the test ride area to try out the Aprilia Shiver 900 and Dorsoduro 900 bikes on the beautiful Tuscan roads around Mugello; the paddock featured a special area reserved for motorcyclists who came to the circuit on their Aprilia bikes; there were food areas (with delicious Ape food trucks); the Aprilia Racing MotoGp truck and a hospitality area, an ESports box with big screens for racing videogames and for watching events on the stage and on the track; an Aprilia Garage for getting your bike checked out by the assistance service; a Moto Guzzi stand (the Fast Endurance Trophy and MG Experience tours start in April) and one for the #bearacer club Aprilia community. The event ended with a grand parade around the track, particularly exciting for motorcyclists on their Aprilia bikes, who rode around one of the best Grand Prix circuits feeling like true bikers.

In short, it was an adrenaline-packed day for passionate fans of all ages, in a friendly, relaxing atmosphere with plenty of sunshine and a nice cool breeze. All Stars at Mugello really was an “Aprilia paradise” in Tuscany, and more than 10 thousand fans turned up to enjoy it! See you again in 2020!
