Rome, 27 March 2024 The President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, this morning received the Executive Chairman of the Piaggio Group, Matteo Colaninno, and the Group Chief Executive Officer, Michele Colaninno, on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the foundation of the Piaggio company.

On this occasion, some vehicles, scooters and motorbikes, were presented to President Mattarella: from a vintage vehicle of the first Vespa from 1946 to the current Vespa Primavera Elettrica, from the new Moto Guzzi Stelvio to the Aprilia Racing RS-GP24 motorbike which races in MotoGP, up to the MP3 maxi scooter, representing the long industrial history of the Piaggio Group, which began in 1884 in Genoa. This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the presence of the Piaggio Group factories in Pontedera (Pisa).

The volume “FuturPiaggio – 6 Italian lessons on mobility and modern life” by Jeffrey Schnapp, published on the occasion of the Company’s 130th anniversary, was donated to the President of the Italian Republic.
