February 2025 (G.T.) – A technicolour journey into the “Harmonic Chaos” of the Italian artist Skim: this is the premise of his solo exhibition, which is set to open on the 1st of March and run until the 5th of April 2025, at the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera (Pisa province, Tuscany, Italy). “Dolcevita” is the title of his exhibition, curated by Riccardo Ferrucci and with the coordination of Filippo Lotti, produced by Casa d’Arte San Lorenzo and supported by FuoriLuogo – servizi per l’arte.
For this initiative, sponsored by the Piaggio Foundationthe Municipality of Pontederathe Region of Tuscany and the Pontedera Cultural Foundation, the works of the artist will be exhibited alongside a series of original works that pay homage to  Piaggio’s iconic vehicles, from the  Vespa to the Ape and the Ciao.

The works by Skim, characterised by his distinctive Harmonic Chaos, reflect his quest as an artist, and narrate stories and dreams, analysing the everyday and translating it into artistic forms that surprise with their contrasts between explosions of colour and the profound messages that they convey: composed of a collection of different elements, they come together in a harmonious way, exploring themes that are also able to mirror the personal experiences of each spectator.

“Skim’s “Harmonic Chaos” is a journey that invites us to explore the beauty of accumulations of things. Each element, apparently unconnected, comes together with the others, telling a story that reflects our history and our experiences. Only by looking closely can we discover what lies behind the chaos.”

Every work invites the viewer on a unique journey, where observing and interpreting the details can breathe life into many different narratives. Skim’s art is distinguished by its appeal and charm, and his motto “In Color We Trust” sums up his creative approach, which he establishes through his exhibitions, performances and public works.

For the exhibition, the Municipality of Pontedera has created an artistic experience shared with the Liceo XXV Aprile high school: in collaboration with the students, Skim held an educational workshop and created a large canvas (‘Supercinema Fantasia’) in his iconic style, which will be unveiled at the Piaggio Museum during the exhibition period. In addition, the artist created a work on one of the walls of the school, transforming the space into a mural that expresses the power of art as a tool for redevelopment and hope. ‘Awareness and Freedom’ was the theme suggested by the students.

A further creative initiative by the Florentine artist - the Panchina Skimmata Gigante - will also be on show at the exhibition, and once this ends, it will be placed in a panoramic spot in the Pontedera area, as a space from which to admire the natural beauty all around.

In addition, in the square outside the entrance to the Piaggio Museum, visitors will be able to admire the magnificent Vespa painted by Skim  and created for the Vespa World Days 2024 event, which was held in Pontedera last April; furthermore, Skim also features in the great collective exhibition VespArt, at the PALP in Pontedera, organised to celebrate the VWDays.
