6 June 2022 – They were born in the same year, the Italian Republic – celebrated every year on 2 June – and Vespa: 1946. And in Rosario, Argentina, they combined the two.
On the eve of the Italian Republic Day, the Italian General Consulate in Rosario announced that the Rosario Vespa Club would be hoisting the Italian colours throughout the city on 2 June, launching the invitation for photos and videos on the topic to be posted then on its social media channels. Here is the dedicated video clip, which opens with the “sonido” (the sound) and the image of a tricoloured Vespa:
And another video from the Consulate showed the important Argentinian city the night before the Italian Festa della Repubblica (Republic Day), with the three colours of the Italian flag, green, white and red, illuminating the Rosario diplomatic headquarters (as well as the Municipal building, the University Chancellorship, and the ‘a la Bandera’ Monument).
In the meantime, the always creative and super operational Rosario Vespa Club organised a Vespa by night rally with a procession of Italian flags through the streets of Rosario.
Seizing the opportunity to have a meeting with the Italian General Consul, Marco Bocchi, with a photo to immortalise the moment at the foot of the famous “Monumento Nacional a la Bandera”, illuminated for the occasion in the green, white, and red of the Italian flag.
In the photo on the left: President of the Rosario Vespa Club, Gabriel Bricco, the Italian General Consul, Marco Bocchi, and Salvador Mateo Ruíz of the Rosario Vespa Club (who we thank for sending us the news and the images). For years, the Vespa club has been collaborating with the Consulate in various initiatives, culminating in the 2 June celebration.
An event celebrated enthusiastically with great participation, including a Festa della Repubblica concert in the El Círculo Theatre, shown here in the photos from the Italian General Consulate in Rosario.
