“The Reunion” is the festival dedicated to all the lovers of café racers, scramblers, special motorbikes and motorbikes in classic style. The location hosting the event is the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, the historic race track near Monza, the venue that speed-lovers find most fascinating in the world. The 2018 edition (19-20 May) was as successful as the previous editions, with over 13,000 participants, 8,000 motorbikes, about a hundred competitors and as many exhibitors.
During the event, participants may view or take part in an 1/8 mile, 1:1 knock-out acceleration challenge, in perfect safety on the race tracks in the Autodromo di Monza. But The Reunion is more than a challenge and rally - the best customizers exhibit their motorbikes and special parts, there are many clubs and everybody meets again for a great rock’n’roll party in the evening.
Moto Guzzi and its The Clan official community had to be there. Many Guzzi fans from all over the place came here to enjoy the café racers in perfect 70s style, “improbable” motorbikes speeding in the ⅛ mile sprint race, while the roar of the engines split the air and fired up the public. There were motorbike lovers busy with road test rides on the 2018 Moto Guzzi range and families with packed lunches enjoying a picnic on the grass.
The Reunion 2018 was all this and the Guzzi fans of the community had the starring role! So many, with our Moto Guzzi bikes, answered the call of the Temple of Speed, the Autodromo di Monza. This venue has marked the history of motorbike racing and has a special bond with the Aquila di Mandello motorbike (not just geographical), thanks to this one-of-a-kind event (now at its fourth edition) that celebrates the love for vintage and modern classic motorbikes.
Some were the stars of a free specialisation riding course, organised working with the Scuola di Motociclismo Curve&Tornanti GSSS school of motoring, which first gave them a class-based theory lesson and then a practical lesson on the road, riding their own Moto Guzzi bikes. Other participants rushed to the Moto Guzzi stand, to have their helmet customised by Aryk, a great custom-painting artist, or to take part in our challenge and win lots of Aquila gadgets.
And, most importantly, The Reunion 2018 was an opportunity to catch up with lots of Guzzi lover friends and members of the community, with whom to have fun under the banner of pure Guzzi passion!
