MEANWHILE, THE HISTORIC MANDELLO SITE IS BEING TRANSFORMED INTO A CUTTING-EDGE FACTORY, A PLACE FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY TO MEET, AS WELL AS A MECCA FOR MOTORCYCLISTS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD. THE MOTO GUZZI ROWING CLUB CELEBRATES ITS STUDENT ANDREA PANIZZA, SILVER MEDALLIST AT THE PARIS OLYMPICS IN THE QUADRUPLE SCULLS

Mandello del Lario, 15 September 2024 - The Guzzisti return to Mandello del Lario. Just like every September, thousands of Moto Guzzi enthusiasts returned to this enchanting corner of Lake Como, where the much-loved motorcycling brand was born. Because every Moto Guzzi must come back sooner or later to where it was built, whether a hundred, sixty or three years ago - or even if only a few weeks have passed since it emerged from the legendary red gate in Via Parodi.

A visit to the Eagle’s Nest is a real pilgrimage, and as ever, along with the Moto Guzzi fans, a stream of passionate motorcyclists, groups of friends and families made their way to Mandello, all to celebrate an Italian brand that has succeeded in winning the hearts of so many across the world.

At the end of the event, around thirty thousand people had visited, and the Moto Guzzi Museum alone had welcomed over 22,000 visitors, fascinated by the unique collection of motorbikes.

The setting that greeted the Guzzisti was quite different to usual. The factory space which traditionally housed the event village - the traditional epicentre of the festivities - at previous editions, is now home to the Moto Guzzi production plant of the future. This all-new building is set to reopen in the near future, not only as the ultimate cutting-edge factory where the next Moto Guzzi bikes will be built, but also as a new environment, with open spaces accessible to the public which will serve both as a meeting point for the local community and a destination for enthusiasts from all over the world, not least thanks to the presence of the new Moto Guzzi Historical Museum. Meanwhile, the museum, which can still be found in its original location, remains one of the most visited places, with 22,000 guests during the Open House event, attracted by the precious collection of over 150 unique models.

The area in front of the red gate - forever the symbol of the Mandello factory - hosted the Eagle shop, providing guests with the opportunity to browse for Moto Guzzi merchandise and accessories. The exhibition showcasing the entire Moto Guzzi range was also unmissable - from all versions of the inimitable V7 to the ultra-modern V100 Mandello, as well as the Stelvio and the V85, the latest arrivals. All of the models were offered for free test rides that enabled nearly 1,300 motorcyclists to try out Moto Guzzi bikes on the picturesque roads around Lake Como.

One of the focal points of the 2024 edition of the Moto Guzzi Open House was the noble sport of rowing, decorated with the Olympic Laurel. The historic headquarters of the Canottieri Moto Guzzi rowing club hosted an evening with Ringo and Virgin Radio, where Andrea Panizza, recent winner of the silver medal at the Paris Olympics in the quadruple sculls, was honoured.
