ANNOUNCING THE STREETFOODY ACADEMY: CHEF FABIO CAMPOLI REVEALS THE SECRETS OF THE STREET FOOD BUSINESS

OPEN DAY ON 6 NOVEMBER 2017 AT THE STREETFOODY HQ IN TERRANUOVA BRACCIOLINI (AREZZO), WITH ALFA PIZZA, THE INCREDIBLE ON-THE-ROAD PIZZERIA ON A PIAGGIO APE.

StreetFoody can turn a simple idea into a real project “with tyres on the road” and feet on the ground, thanks to the experience and strength it has developed as a leading player in Italy. The company, which specialises in equipping vehicles, mainly Piaggio vans like the Ape and the Porter, has a team of experts to support clients, potential food truckers, and together with them develop the entire business project, helping them at every stage in the realisation of their idea until their vehicle starts its life on the road.

That’s not all: the outfitter also organises initiatives and events to support clients as their business grows. An important example is the StreetFoody Academy, to be presented at the next Open Day, on 6 November 2017, at the headquarters of StreetFoody in Tuscany (Terranuova Bracciolini, province of Arezzo). Here is their fascinating proposal: “We know from the many stories of our clients that street food is fashionable, but it is not something you can improvise. Many different things have to be considered when developing a food trucking business: business plan, bookkeeping, laws, conservation of ingredients, marketing… an attractive menu and a passionately committed staff are only the first step!

The StreetFoody Academy has been created to meet the important need for management expertise to support on-the-road food projects: it will be fronted by Fabio Campoli, who will offer aspiring food truckers the benefit of his more than 30 years’ experience in food and wine, the media, design and publishing. With his interpretation of the concept of chef, Fabio Campoli is a catering consultant, author, TV and radio presenter as well as a food designer and lecturer. He has developed a ‘simply different’ way of cooking, which he has translated into an operating methodology through his company ‘Azioni Gastronomiche’, which also provided the inspiration for the philosophy of the StreetFoody Academy.”

Chef Fabio Campoli comments: “An initiative truly in step with the times, geared to a new approach to catering in the new millennium, which certainly meets the demands of a more compressed lifestyle, without neglecting the need to combine high-quality ingredients and production with rapid service of the dishes on offer. Our training courses will provide notions about every aspect of street food, together with management tools and creativity ideas for people who want to invest in a small-size but extremely practical catering business.”

ALFA PIZZA: IRRESISTIBLE

The program for the Open Day on 6 November offers a series of attractions you won’t want to miss: the Pizza area with on-the-road cookery demos organised by Alfa Pizza (in the photogallery above, Alfa Pizza at work at the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera, for the recent meeting of Piaggio Commercial Vehicles dealers), the presentation of the new vehicles in the range, test drives on the Ape Piaggio and much more. Food truckers, present and future, are invited!
