APRILIA TUONO ALWAYS THE MOST ADMIRED. Lauded and esteemed by international critics (for example, Motociclismo Spain, Superbike Italy and Bike UK) as the most efficient and fastest bike in its class, the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory, a direct descendant of the RSV4, the seven-times SBK world champion, has just won its nth plaudit as motorcycle of the year: the magazine Australian Motorcycle News has named it Moty 2016. The expert tester journalists had no doubts, says Chris Dobie: “The Tuono in Factory guise is the best big-bone naked in the market… but it’s not a performance bike for the masses”.

INNOVATION, TECHNOLOGY, PERFORMANCE, FINISHING. The recognition is the outcome of the annual road test event organised by the magazine in Australia, held this year near the Otway National Park, in an area with some of the region’s best lesser-known motorcycling roads. It compares a selection of the best motorcycles nominated on the strength of their position as substantially new models, and ranked for innovation, technology, performance and finishing.

BORN TO CONQUER THE ROAD AND BIKERS.The Aprilia Tuono proved to be one of those rare motorcycles that connects with all the expert bikers and journalists who tested it for this important event, making them all feel like better, faster and safer riders with respect to the other competitors, from a variety of segments: the Kawasaki ZX-10R, the Honda Africa Twin, the Triumph Thruxton R, the MV Agusta Brutale 800, the Ducati XDiavel S, the Yamaha MT-10 and the KTM Super Duke GT. Craig Coxhell says: “This bike gives you confidence, excitement and the feeling that you are in safe hands. It has a nice riding position and the perfect handlebar position to give you a good feel”.
WINNING FEATURES. THE POWER TO EXCITE. This “superbike with its high handlebar” delivers pure adrenalin and successfully convinced all the test judges, clearly showing its appeal and versatility and displaying its ability to thrill a wide range of bikers, with diverse personalities and riding styles. Coxhell again: “It has the least amount of vibration of the eight bikes”.
PERFORMANCE, PRECISION, EFFICACY. The Aprilia Tuono, one of the most powerful bikes in its segment, won particular praise for its exceptional performance, a benchmark in the super naked segment, and the rousing sound of its 175 HP V4 engine. Kel Buckley: “The sound of the V4 is unmistakable, turning heads wherever it goes. The electronics are exceptional”. Particularly outstanding strengths, as Steve Martin notes, are: great manageability; rigorous front end; the engine, whose exceptional power and torque enable very progressive acceleration. And the look and sound are immediate winners.
This is something Aprilia Tuono fans know very well. One such is Chris Tonge, who posted a photo of his “immensely good” Tuono on the Australian magazine’s facebook page.
