VESPA, PIAGGIO LIBERTY AND FLY ARE THE FAVOURITE MODELS OF LARGE CORPORATE CLIENTS FOR THEIR VEHICLE FLEETS. BELOW, A ROUND-UP OF THE LATEST BEST PRACTICES IN EUROPE
A formidable fleet of 1,300 scooters – Vespa Primavera 125, Piaggio Liberty 125, Piaggio Fly 125 – has been bought by “Brokers Bike”, one of the largest brokers in the Spanish vehicle rental business. Brokers Bike has purchased the scooters from the Piaggio Group for subsequent distribution to rental companies throughout Spain. So Spaniards and tourists can choose the world’s coolest scooter, the Vespa, or a nippy Liberty or Fly two-wheeler to discover the country’s most fascinating places.
In order to expand and upgrade its vehicle fleet, the Hungarian Post Office – “Magyar Posta Zrt.” – has chosen the industry best seller: the nimble Piaggio Liberty, delivery version, customised with a capacious 70 lt rear top box and a front luggage carrier, in a livery with the Post Office colours and logos. The customer is handled by Netmoto Kft, the main dealer of the Piaggio Group’s Hungarian importer, Marinat SRO. The Liberty scooters (156 vehicles, in 50 cc and 125 cc versions) are used for postal deliveries on urban and non-urban routes. And the “new entry” is the cover story in the official magazine of the Hungarian Post Office.
Britain’s “Scooterised Limited” specialises in delivering goods to industrial users, and makes wide use of two-wheelers, which are faster and easier to manage, especially in city traffic. The company has added 105 new vehicles to its fleet: Piaggio Fly 125 3V and the Piaggio MP3 Yourban, MP3 300 LT Business and Aprilia 850 SRV maxi scooters.
“KBS Motors” GMBH, a rental company based in Frankfurt, has bought 100 vehicles from the Piaggio Group – Vespa and MP3 scooters – for long- or short-term rental to individual or corporate customers. Its extensive fleet also includes Aprilia and Gilera scooters.
The Piaggio Group has delivered 38 Fly 125 3V scooters to the “Sheffield Community Transport Company”, a private transport operator in the Sheffield area (northern England) with a fleet of coaches, minibuses and scooters: an integrated system of vehicles providing cost-effective solutions for commuters, especially people living in areas with infrequent public transport services. The new scooters are used in villages, towns and cities.
In Spain, the Ciao Motors dealer has sold 25 Piaggio Liberty 50cc scooters, delivery version, to the “Duplex Mantenimientos” company, a lift maintenance service provider. Duplex Mantenimientos’ engineers travel around on the Liberty Delivery two-wheelers, using the roomy rear top box to store their tools. The nippy Piaggio Liberty is an excellent substitute for automobiles: it moves faster through traffic and can be parked more easily. It also costs less to buy, and maintenance and fuel costs are lower than those of a four-wheel vehicle. So time and money are saved, to the benefit of productivity and earnings.
