1ST August 2023 (G.T.) – A new product that coincides with one of the hottest summers ever is the commercial vehicle Piaggio Porter NP6 in the new Cold Car outfitting, a name that says it all. Its mission is to defend (all the year) ice cream and frozen foods from the heat thanks to its “refrigerated” body.

And all across Europe, customers who are also true Porter NP6 “Cold Car” users are already praising the new outfit. They are primarily ice cream producers and parlours, frozen food producers, ice cream and frozen food distributors, companies who operate in “door to door” frozen food sales, and Ho.Re.Ca (Hotelier-Restaurant-Café) operators and distributors.
SOCIAL CORNER – PIAGGIO NP6 COLD CAR DELIVERY:
But what is so special about this special isothermal outfit created by the Piedmont-based Cold Car Spa company? (With registered offices and plant in Occimiano, province of Alexandria, North of Italy). Here is the answer.
COLD CAR, MADE IN ITALY. “Cold Car, a leader in refrigerated and isothermal vehicle bodies for more than 50 years, has always used technology and innovation to tackle the needs of customers, and create the solution tailored to each individual professional requirement.Quality and high performance are the cardinal points of the company which, starting from as an artisan workshop, skilfully grew and gained ground in the sector, has grown and captured market shares, becoming an internationally acclaimed manufacturer.”
English translation of the audio: ““Cold Car has been a leader in the refrigerated body segment for over 50 years. We have grown, and this allows us to look to the future with a certain optimism. At the time, it was a company of 18 people producing a few bodies a week. In recent years, the market has changed radically, so we have also come up with a more innovative product suited to the times. The Cold Car body was ideal straight away for distributing one of the most perishable products: ice cream. Our product evolved into a multi-temperature body, and we are already able to meet distribution needs in an urban setting on electric trucks as well. Over the years, we have improved the efficacy of the systems, introducing high performance eutectic evaporators. We have worked to reduce electrical consumption, the K factor - in other words, the insulation our finished body has, so there is lower electrical consumption to achieve the cold temperatures. The life expectancy of our body is at least 12 years. This durability over time makes this product ideal for worldwide distribution and ensures that it is a vehicle that identifies a quality body. We have a vast network of agents all over the world. For most of the exports, we used products made in Italy. The end use of the body on different vehicle frame models is obviously necessary to meet the needs of the bodies that go out to all the markets. The best part is seeing the customer satisfied... Creating a working environment that satisfies the people who are working is the only way companies can progress and achieve results. Cold Car is extremely attentive to ecological aspects. For electricity, we use solar panels for almost all our manufacturing plant’s needs... we are currently looking at reducing our CO2 footprint. So, maintaining the core business on the specific body, which has set us apart over these 50 years. After the frozen food ‘door to door’ we feel ready to follow this multi-temperature home food delivery need.”
