VESPA 80TH: AN EXCLUSIVE MODEL. The exclusive colour scheme of the Vespa 80th series features a unique pastel green shade that evokes the spring of 1946, when this two-wheeled vehicle was about to explode across Italy and Europe, on the back of the tumultuous, creative atmosphere that characterised the post-war revival. This particular nuance of green is inspired by the colour code of Vespa’s very first single-colour models, retrieved from the brand’s historical archives. It is a shade that calls to mind the 1940s, referencing one of Vespa’s first iconic colours, which would be joined by many others over the years, broadening its vibrant palette. The design language of the Vespa 80th series echoes the post-war values of practicality and functionality that characterised a design that was as simple as it was revolutionary: the body colour is thus extended to a number of details such as the windshield profiles, the passenger grab handle, the rear-view mirrors, the control panels and the front suspension linkage. The high-gloss finish of the body really stands out, while the details feature a satin finish. The result is a minimalist yet eye-catching design, enhanced by additional tone-on-tone elements in a darker shade of green: the saddle, embellished with decorative stitching; the rubber inserts at the centre of the footrest, the cover on the rear of the front shield and the handlebar grips.
The wheel rims are inspired by the first Vespas of 1946 and are also painted in the iconic pastel green shade, with a design that reinterprets the closed pressed-steel structure of the wheels from that era. The rims feature the inscription “Est. 1946”, along with a diamond-finished groove. Finally, the Vespa Primavera 80th features a cooling grille on the left side panel, a further detail that brings it even closer to the technical and stylistic solutions of its origins.
The front shield is decorated with a commemorative “80th” plaque alongside the classic Vespa logo, whilst the rear of the front shield features a badge with the “80 years of Vespa Est.1946” logo, designed to celebrate this extraordinary milestone.
