ITALY, CIV 2019: ROUND 3

A PERFECT WEEKEND: NUOVA M2 RACING AND APRILIA CELEBRATE THREE WINS AND TWO POLE POSITIONS IN IMOLA

IN SUPERBIKE LORENZO SAVADORI DOMINATES BOTH RACES ASTRIDE HIS APRILIA RSV4 FW-STK; ON HIS APRILIA RSV4 FACTORY EDDI LA MARRA WINS THE NATIONAL TROPHY 1000 RACE.

Imola (International Circuit, Italy), 30 June 2019 - Once again, Lorenzo Savadori started from pole position, lapping with his Aprilia RSV4 FW-STK almost as if it was the Superpole session. The only rider to drop below the 1’49 mark, he gained one second per lap over his nearest rival until accumulating an advantage of almost six seconds, and then he began to manage the race. The Italian crossed the finish line first with a long wheelie worthy of the best stunt men.

This gives Savadori more points in the championship standings, closing the gap behind the leader to just 42 points.

It was a perfect weekend for Nuova M2 Racing and Aprilia as they took the two pole positions in Superbike and in the National Trophy 1000 with their Aprilia RSV4 machines, then going on to win all the races on the schedule. On Saturday, Lorenzo Savadori won Superbike Race 1. On Sunday, the National Trophy 1000 race was dominated by Eddi La Marra and his brand-new Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory and, at the end of the day, Lorenzo Savadori did the double in Superbike Race 2 to round out a historic result for the team.

When we get back on the other circuits, it will be hard again, but we will keep giving it our all to do as much as possible, battling down to the end. I wish to thank Aprilia, Nuova M2 Racing, Fausto Gresini and all the sponsors who give me a hand. This double win is dedicated to all of them.”

From the third lap I had grip problems with my Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory. I am very happy because with the third win in a row we have struck an important blow in the championship. I wish to thank my friends, all the people who support me and the team which is doing a great job.”

Alex Sgroi (bike No. 33), National Trophy 1000: “I am very pleased with the result. We worked well and we are improving consistently little by little. Nuova M2 Racing is doing a great job. We will be working hard on our Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory for the next race in Misano. I wish to thank all my sponsors and the people who help me on this adventure.”
