The British Grand Prix 2024. A special livery for the RS-GP bikes ridden by Aleix Espargaro' and Maverick Viñales, inspired by the Aprilia model that the “Black Corsair” - multiple champion and MotoGP legend Max Biaggi - rode to win his three consecutive world titles, from 1994 to 1996, in the 250cc MotoGP class.
August 2024 - On 1 August, the eve of the British Grand Prix and the tenth of the 2024 season, the teams unveiled a number of special liveries inspired by the past in the pitlane of the Silverstone circuit. An extraordinary show that served as the highlight of the celebratory events which enlivened the entire weekend in England, marking the 75th anniversary of the MotoGP. On the Sunday, the riders and bikes with vintage fairings lined up on the starting grid.

13 June 1949. The MotoGp.com website declares: “2024 is our 75th anniversary year, and today is our birthday: the first race of an FIM World Championship Grand Prix was held on 13 June 1949 with the 350cc class on the Isle of Man. A few days later, on 17 June, it was the turn of the premium class.

Aprilia in the World Championship. The first race in the World Championship for Aprilia was in 1985 in the 250cc class, with rider Loris Reggiani in the saddle of the GP 250, and at the end of the first season, the Aprilia GP 250 came sixth in the world championship standings. This was a truly incredible achievement, particularly in light of the small, experimental racing team assembled for this, their first year of competing. The first victory arrived two seasons later in the San Marino Grand Prix, when the Italian anthem was belted out during the podium ceremony in Misano on 30 August 1987: Loris Reggiani and his AF1 took the top spot in the first world speed race in the bike’s history. After the first few years of experience, five years after the first victory and in the wake of numerous other race successes, the team’s greatest dreams came true in 1992, as they took home the World Title in the 125cc class with Alessandro Gramigni. In 1995, Aprilia bagged its first Constructors’ title, finishing first in the 250cc class.

The 2015 season marked the return of Aprilia to the MotoGP class. Aprilia's first win in the premier class arrived recently, when Aleix Espargaro' took first place in the Argentinian GP in 2022; since then, he has won a further two Grand Prix (in 2023, at Silverstone and Barcelona). His performance, as well as that of his pitmate Maverick Viñales, helped to drive Aprilia through the rankings into third place in the Constructors’ standings (the Venetian manufacturer's best ever top-class result), with the same result in the team standings.
