25 September 2024 - Fresh from the Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagna, Aprilia Racing heads to Asia for the GP of Indonesia (15th of the season, 27-29 September 2024), in Mandalika, with Maverick Viñales and Aleix Espargaró ready to show their competitiveness.
Maverick Viñales is returning to a track where he was one of the main protagonists last year when the Spanish rider took second in the long race, just missing the win by only three tenths of a second.
Aleix Espargaró, coming from the second race in Misano where he showed positive signs in terms of speed, is determined to continue this trend and to further improve his performance.

The Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, located on the island of Lombok, Indonesia, hosted MotoGP for the first time in 2022. The track is 4.3 km long and has 17 turns – 11 righthanders and 6 lefthanders. The most demanding braking section is at the first turn, where the MotoGP bikes go from 304 km/h to 103 km/h.
MAVERICK VIÑALES. #12: "Mandalika is always a special track because the atmosphere and the layout are rather particular. We have some fantastic memories here, so I’ll be going into the weekend with an extremely positive mentality. We are ready to enjoy Indonesia and the races.”
ALEIX ESPARGARÓ, #41: "This is a track that I like a lot. Last year I was really competitive. It’s a shame about the soft tyre choice in the long race which penalized us. This track is well suited to the Aprilia, plus it is also a very special place – one of the most beautiful on the calendar – and the fans there love MotoGP. I can’t wait to be back on track.”
