APRILIA RS 660 RIDERS DOMINATE MOTOAMERICA TWINS CUP AT LAGUNA SECA: DI MARIO SWEEPS POLE AND DOUBLE WINS. VOSSBERG SCORES DOUBLE PODIUMS

MONTEREY, California (USA), July 14, 2025 Aprilia RS 660 riders delivered another commanding performance in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup this past weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Reigning class champion Alessandro Di Mario, riding for Robem Engineering, claimed pole position and swept both race victories at the July 11–13 round. His teammate, Twins Cup rookie Hank Vossberg, secured double podium finishes in a standout weekend for Aprilia.

The Aprilia RS 660 proved its pace and dominance from the opening session, with Di Mario setting the tone in Friday practice. His best lap of 1:32.236 was more than 1.2 seconds clear of his closest competitor. Four other Aprilia riders placed inside the top 10, including Speeddemon Racing’s Logan Cunnison (3rd), Vossberg (4th), Bad Boys Racing’s Avery Dreher (5th), and Weyh Racing’s Andrew Weyh (8th).

Friday afternoon’s first qualifying session saw Di Mario, Vossberg, Dreher, and Cunnison provisionally lock out the top four spots. In Saturday’s final qualifying, Di Mario secured his fourth pole of the season with a lap 0.721 seconds faster than the next rider. Aprilia riders ultimately claimed four of the top five grid positions for the weekend’s races.
Race 1 – Saturday. Di Mario dominated Saturday afternoon’s Race 1, taking victory by over nine seconds and leading six Aprilia RS 660s into the top 10. Vossberg earned his second career podium with a hard-fought third place. Dreher finished fifth, followed by Weyh (6th), Cunnison (8th), and R2R Canada/Economy Tire & Lube Racing’s Mavrick Cyr (10th).

Race 2 – Sunday. Sunday’s Race 2 saw even greater success for the Robem Engineering duo, with Di Mario and Vossberg completing a 1-2 finish. Di Mario crossed the line nearly seven seconds clear, while Vossberg battled to secure his third podium in four starts. Dreher (4th), Cunnison (6th), Cyr (8th), and Moto-Ace Racing’s Zachary Foster (10th) rounded out a strong showing for Aprilia.

With his double victories, Di Mario extended his lead in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup standings to 67 points with four rounds remaining. Aprilia riders also hold key positions in the championship: Dreher sits third, Vossberg fifth, Cunnison eighth, and Weyh tenth.

Of the 33 riders registered for the Laguna Seca round, 16 competed aboard Aprilia RS 660s, reinforcing the bike’s popularity and competitive edge in the class.
NEXT ROUND. The MotoAmerica Twins Cup resumes August 1–3 at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Va.
