Monza, 3 June 2018 – Monza, the home of the Italian Formula One Grand Prix, this weekend hosted the opening race of the Italian Championship reserved for the Wolf GB08 Thunder sports cars with Aprilia RSV4 engines.

KEY POINTS OF THE ITALIAN SPORT PROTOTYPES CHAMPIONSHIP. The Italian Sport Prototypes Championship is reserved until 2022 for the Wolf GB08 Thunder sports car, a completely new vehicle created on the one-seater frame already used on the Wolf GB08SM, in carbon fibre, compliant with the FIA Formula 1 2005 safety standards. The motorcycle-derived Aprilia RSV4 1,000 cc, 192 hp, 12,500 rpm engine is sealed for the whole season, with a regulatory weight of 475 kg with the driver on board (vehicle 378 kg), with E2SS type approval (in accordance with art. 277 Attachment J FIA).

THE TITLES FOR THE WINNERS. In addition to the title of Italian Sport Prototypes Champion for the drivers, the Aci Sport Under 25 Trophy for all drivers born since 1 January 1993, and the Aci Sport Team Trophy for Corporate Competitors and Racing Teams with a valid licence for 2018, an Aci Sport Master Trophy will also be presented, for all drivers born before 31 December 1972 (over 45), as well as an Aci Sport Rookie Trophy (Beginners) for drivers who have raced in not more than three events in any national and/or international series or championship in a sport prototype.

At the end of the season, Wolf Racing Cars will present the Championship winner with a contribution of 100,000 euro for the continuation of their career in the 2018-2023 Euroseries Speed Championship, behind the wheel of a Wolf GB08 Tornado selected by the team from those indicated by the manufacturer.
