Assen (the Netherlands), 22 April 2018 – The Aralia Racing Team technicians did an excellent job of providing riders Maximilian Scheib and Luca Vitali with two high-performance RSV4 FW-STK bikes. Scheib made good use of the clutch, which allowed him to stick with the front group, already lying third at the end of the first lap.

Chilean Scheib battled it out with a rival for the podium. He then attempted to close the gap to the leading pair but to no avail; he thus crossed the line in third position, an excellent result.

Also Luca Vitali got away well, making up three positions over the course of just two laps. Italian Vitali defended himself well in the chasing group, beating off his rivals in a hard-fought head to head that saw him finish the race in sixth place.

The next event for the Aprilia Racing Team is its home round, taking place at Imola, in Italy, in less than three weeks' time: 11-13 May 2018.
MAXIMILIAN SCHEIB (bike no. 7): "I'm really happy. I've worked very hard with the Aprilia Racing Team technicians and this time we've been able to achieve the kind of result we already deserved at Aragon.

We will continue to work because we're not settling, we want to get ahead of our rivals and have everything we need to be able to reach the highest step of the podium. I thank the entire Aprilia Racing Team, they're really working hard both at the track and back at base, and I will do all I can to give them the greatest satisfaction. Thanks also to the sponsors who believe in us and support us on this adventure."

LUCA VITALI: (bike no. 70): "I had a lot of fun, we really battled hard. Through the fast sections I was quicker but in braking and acceleration my rivals were able to make up a lot of ground.

In the end, we found a good set-up, one that is in continuous development. We still need to work more on our braking and acceleration. Really great work by the whole group, we'll carry on like this now that we're on the right path.”
