13 March 2023 (G.T.) – The fantastic red, white, and blue MotoAmerica 2023 national championship has begun: 10 races from March through September on the most spectacular American circuits. The opener was last weekend at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

In the Twins Cup category (lightweight bikes), just like last year, the Aprilia RS 660 is racing and leading: nineteen-year-old Gus Rodio, in his début astride the No. 96 Italian bike (Rodio Racing team), defeated his competitors, winning Race 1 and finishing second in Race 2 after a thrilling duel and he is now leading in the overall standings.

Gus Rodio (#96, born in 2004) is a new entry in the Twins Cup category – and on the Aprilia RS 660 – having raced for four years in the youth category, winning 4 Junior Cups and taking 14 Junior Cup Podiums. He is one of the up and comers on the motorcycle racing scene. He says that riding sport bikes on the track is his favourite hobby. In MotoAmerica 2023, no fewer than 8 riders race astride the Italian bike; in addition to young Gus, there are also: Jody Barry (#11, born in 1988) and Kaleb De Keyrel (#51, born in 1997) both on team Veloce Racing; Sam Wiest (#60, born in 1998) on team LWTRacer.com; Ben Gloddy (#72, born in 2005) of Robem Engineering team; Brad Faas (#173, born in 1980) on team Elite Garageworkz/MRP Motorsports; Edwin Cosme (#227, born in 1971) of Team Biothermal; Anthony Mazziotto III (#516, born in 2000) of Rodio Racing/Warhorse HSBK Racing.
