July 2023 (G.T.) – A journey into the heart of the “Belpaese” (Italy, of course), a unique experience, astride a Moto Guzzi (your own or to rent), in the company of bikers who are – like you - passionate about the eagle brand: this is the ride “Belpaese/Italy – From the hills of Bologna to the ‘Sassi’ of Matera and the Sorrento peninsula”, scheduled from Saturday 30 September to Sunday 8 October 2023. An original “trans-Apennine” itinerary different from the others, which promises to offer many emotions on the road to discover unique places and landscapes.
Over 2-200 km in total, driving without haste, to admire fascinating places and landscapes and enjoy refreshment stops with the gastronomic specialties of the regions crossed. The travel program briefly: “We will spend an intense but rewarding week travelling along some of the most beautiful stretches of the central part of the Apennine Alps starting from the Bolognese Hills, taking a brief deviation into the stunning Casentinesi Forest National Park, then continuing along the elevated summits to the Romagna Apennines. Without descending to sea level, we pass through the Sibillini Mountains, Abruzzo Park, Monte Sirente, the Matese Mountains as far as Partenio, continuing through the Lattari Mountains and on to our final destinations: the Sassi di Matera, the stunning Sorrentine Peninsula and the postcard-perfect Amalfi Coast where we will spend an entire day.
Well rested, we then head our bikes back towards the North, traversing glorious back roads and visiting extraordinary locations such as the Cassino Abbazia (Abbey). Once we’ve passed Rome, we’ll spend some time among the enchanting hills of Lower Lazio and Tuscany, stopping for a night in Siena. From there, we take on a stretch of road that is part of motorcycling history – the mountain range that separates Florence and Bologna. From famous passes to delightful hidden back roads, we enjoy a fitting finale to our extraordinary tour of the Beautiful Country or Belpaese, as Italy is affectionately referred to by Italians.”
