8 February 2021 – What a beautiful enterprise by Valentina Marchese, beginning with the title “I fiori che verranno” (The flowers to come). Poetic, creative and with a loyal ally: the Ape! A practical and fun vehicle, transformed into a mobile shop. With her “Apetta Vispetta” (Lively Little Ape, as she calls it) with its light blue livery, Valentina (originally from Palermo, with years of professional experience in a notary public office) “reinvented” her life and she now sells flowers and floral arrangements of her own creation on the road. This is her story, as she herself tells it on her Facebook profile: “FLOWERSTOCOME is my flower shop in Treviso, in Northern Italy, where I work with care and creativity to enhance weddings, events, display cases, restaurants, offices and homes, or simply to create a floral gift. Through my personality and creativity, I strive to infuse emotion in the job that has been requested of me so that the result in your hands will be unique, because each time I give myself over to different emotions and inspirations. Between your order and the material completion of the job, lies an EMOTION.”
VALENTINA AND HER “APETTA VISPETTA”: “WHEN I DRIVE IT, I FEEL A UNIQUE SENSE OF FREEDOM AND LIGHT-HEARTEDNESS; I FORGET ALL ABOUT THE TROUBLES WE ARE GOING THROUGH. I ENTER ANOTHER DIMENSION.”
“And it is precisely from an emotion that this THEFLOWERSTOCOME life and work project was born, a freak story, a gut impulse, kind of like when you fall in love and feel butterflies in your stomach. At a certain time in my life, standing before a flower stand in a market, I was enchanted, literally. I found a benefit in seeing how much beauty flowers express and how much wellness they can give you.”
“Sensations of wellness that I also found when I embarked on this professional path. I began taking courses and workshops. I attended the National Florists Federation (Federfiori) school, where I earned my basic florist diploma. I collaborated occasional with various florists on local events, until I decided to proceed on my own and launch my own project.”
I realised that flowers make people feel good and move them emotionally, and that is what I strive to do with my work, but detaching myself from the concept of a shop. I am an itinerant freelance florist (with an Ape! - Editor’s note). I come to you. My work can be seen on social media and, as for the rest, people call me and give me broad indications or they simply leave me with the freedom to create. This is my job, a blender filled with my passions, sensations, ideas, creativity and manual skills, where there is only one rule: be moved by emotion.”
