May 2024 (G.T.) – – The Piaggio Group Customer Care service recently received an email with three drawings dedicated to Vespa attached and the simple message from the author Cyril Menguy: “Here some drawings I made”. CYRIL, SHOULD WE DEDUCE – FROM YOUR BEAUTIFUL DRAWINGS – THAT YOU ARE AN ARTIST?

“I have always been fascinated by mechanics. When I was younger, I spent hours drawing or photographing them, which led me to study at the Beaux-Arts School. Since then, I have been practicing every day. Today, I still admire the vehicles’ lines that inspire me, and I try to convey their beauty through my work.

HOW THE IDEA OF CREATING DRAWINGS WITH VESPA WAS BORN? ARE YOU A FAN OF THE BRAND? AND DO YOU HAVE A VESPA?

“Passioned with two wheels and art, Piaggo was necessarily one of the brands that inspired me the most. Years ago, I owned and restored a Ciao. From now on, I am currently searching for a PX 125’s Vespa.

WHAT IS THE PLACE YOU WOULD LIKE TO VISIT ON A VESPA?

“It is kind of a cliché, but I’ve always dreamed of driving a Vespa with my girlfriend in romantic cities like Paris, Roma or Napoli!

CAN WE ASK YOU HOW OLD, WHERE DO YOU LIVE AND WORK?

“I am about to have 34 years old. I live in the West of France in Brest. With its harbor and the surrounding beaches, it is very pleasant to live there! I’ve always worked in cultural and maintenance-related jobs, in museums or for the navy.”

HAVE YOU EVER EXHIBITED YOUR WORK TO THE PUBLIC?

“I’ve been lucky enough to exhibit my work twice: Back then, during my studies; And more recently, I organized an event with two friends of mine, where we exhibited our works in a garage! A concert was organized for the event, and we had a great time.”

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT OUR READERS LET TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?

“Nostalgic of old vehicles’ lines, which Piaggio herited, I’m trying to save old racing bicycles and scooters from breakage. I keep tracks of my finds and the progress of my work on my Instagram account - @Cyril_Mgy - where I share aesthetic pictures of mechanics.”
