20 September 2022 - At the Bussoladomani Park of Lido di Camaiore in Tuscany, organisation is in full swing for the “Wheels & Waves Italy” event (1st edition), scheduled to take place from 7 to 9 October 2022, to include bikes, surfing, and skate culture. After the 11th edition held this summer in Biarritz (29 June - 3 July 2022), the French beach town, the famous festival (which, in past years, has also been held in California and in Japan) is now coming to the “Italian west coast”, to Lido di Camaiore (Lucca), the cradle of surfing in Italy.

In Versilia, nestled between the sea and the mountain, the Tuscan beach town will host the first edition of Wheels & Waves Italy, promising three days of rides, socialising, fun, the famous TROTL beach race, El Rollo dirt track, WAW vintage enduro rally, surf & skateboard contest, the W&W village, and the Artride to close out the long 2022 summer with a bang.

For the first time, the legendary Wheels & Waves event adds a stop in Lido di Camaiore, the cradle of surfing in Italy. Don’t miss the chance to celebrate astride a Moto Guzzi and with the typical adventurous spirit of Enduro Republic, partner of Moto Guzzi and Wheels & Waves in charge of handling all the details so that you’ll have a legendary weekend experience.
Two paths for a unique experience. The itinerary includes an asphalted path and a dirt road, both designed to best admire the enchanting territories of the Ligurian Apennines and Tuscan Lunigiana/Garfagnana. A tour with V7 and V85 TT dedicated to driving pleasure and adventure, with many opportunities to take memorable photographs.
Let yourself be inspired by the camera. Experience three days in the saddle of a Moto Guzzi, immersed in nature with a view of the sea, the Alps, and countless #PhotoOpportunities. To make it even more fun and to free your creativity, each participant will be given a film camera with all the charm that comes with analogue photography. There will also be a media production team on hand made up of authentic professionals in the sector. In fact, at the end of the trip, in addition to the developed negatives, a photo and video content package dedicated to each individual rider’s experience will be sent.
The path to conquer the Italian west coast. For both groups (street and offroad), the point of departure will be from the Enduro Republic Base Camp in Grazzano Visconti (Piacenza province). There, the riders will find a plentiful breakfast with local and international specialities, as well as the Enduro Republic team who will provide all the information on the bikes and the itinerary.

The “Street” itinerary was painstakingly planned for the Moto Guzzi V7 and V85 TT and it includes a scenic route that follows the “Off the beaten path” philosophy. The “Offroad” group, on the other hand, made up only of V85 TT models, will go over dirt and unsurfaced roads, alternating with paved sections on secondary and scenic routes. The first night will be spent in an organised bivouac where the riders will find every comfort but without sacrificing the authentic flavour of a night camping out under the stars. Dinner will be prepared by a chef directly over the flames of the campfire (recipes will also be available on request for any food, vegetarian, or vegan needs, as well as for any food allergies or intolerances).
Arrival at the Wheels & Waves festival is anticipated for early afternoon on Saturday the 8th, at the Moto Guzzi stand. Riders will be able to park their bikes in the paddock reserved for them and enjoy all the magic of the event, taking in the competitions, shopping at the stands in the village, and tasting the street food specialities. The night will be spent in a characteristic hotel near the event.
Then, on Sunday morning, they’ll be able to choose between a fast or scenic return itinerary. The former for those who want to enjoy the event a while longer, with departure from Wheels & Waves in the early afternoon and arrival at Enduro Republic in the late afternoon. The latter is dedicated to those who want to continue enjoying their bikes, with departure from Wheels & Waves in the morning and arrival at Enduro Republic in the late afternoon.
